Member Benefits 045-3: Tutoring Support

Polymer Clay Membership SiteHi Cindy! Thanks a million for all that you do for us clayers – I’ve learned so much. This is the first crafting hobby I’ve actually stayed with because your weekly videos keep my attention, and I try new stuff! :) I know you and Doug are busy, busy, busy, and I appreciate that as much as the rest of your avid followers! Thanks again for everything. ~Melissa-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: It Takes a Village… to Raise a Polymer Clay Community

Being so new here and having just bought some of the back issues there are so many things you’ve shown that I want to try.. NOW! :) And you make it so easy! This site is great and I’m so glad I found it.  There’s such an amazing amount information I find myself on here for hours even when I just want to pop in for a few minutes. I’ll read one of your articles and I have to check out the links you have there so I open a new tab for this one, then that one.. After awhile I have 10 tabs with info I want to read! Then, of course, all of those articles have links, and before I know it it’s 11 o’clock (am) and my morning is gone! Anyway, just wanted to say thank you to you and your hubby for going to such lengths to teach and mentor all of us. I always get so much inspiration here. Oh, and I absolutely love the color recipe cards too!! ~Tanya-L >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Video Library

As a teacher myself, I tend to notice teaching styles and you are a natural.  Very clear instruction, the pieces are broken down to the most basic levels and then built up. Thank you so much! ~Desiree-J >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Library

I hope everyone who is still “thinking” and “debating” about joining would give it a shot. I have really learned sooooo much here. The only complaint I have is that Friday only comes once a week! :) ~Catalina >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Cute Little Hollow Puffy Beads

Member Benefits 045-2: All Ages

Polymer Clay Membership SiteNEWS FASHION FLASH: My 20 year old daughter Elizabeth is still at that age where she does not know if it is”Okay” to actually like something MOM made. She was looking at my Pirate beads and I said they are supposed to be “distorted” – mine actual had about 20 teeth – LOL. The new term for that is “stylized.” Sounds intentional and more expensive. Who Knew!! ~Anna-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Pirate Cane

Cindy – I’ve never commented on your color recipes, but appreciate them and your videos so much. No doubt there are plenty of others like me who sorta hang out in the background and let others do most of the talking. I don’t make jewelry – the necklaces, earrings etc. – but I spend hours making things to give away. Tons of key rings, badge reels, magnets, bookmarks, etc. I’ve covered lots of tins that everyone seems to like. Little kids especially seem to love them. And I get lots of comments back from people who seem to like to take the beads and turn them into pendants, earrings and bracelets themselves. I put lots of beads on the little ball chains and tell people to attach them to gift packages or cards. I’m well into my senior years – have mobility problems so don’t get out that much. I do have a great mobility scooter that weighs under 40 pounds so I can lift it and put it in the back of my SUV which lets me get to Hobby Lobby and Home Depot to get some of the supplies you recommend. But I mostly shop via the internet. Your videos mean the world to me – so thank you so much for all that you and your family do that make my days so much fun. And to all you other people who – like me –  have neglected to tell Cindy how much you enjoy those color recipes and her videos – do it now!! ~Fran-R >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Color Recipes

Yea!!! My grandson was here … you know how young people are (I’m 83). He showed me what I was doing wrong on my Windows XP computer. I had installed Firefox but did not set it as my main browser. Now it is and my Adobe Flash has been updated so the videos are working again for me with the new player. Such a dumb thing to not notice what my browser was… but that was what I was doing wrong.  So glad I am back in the fold. ~Jeanne-W >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Beaded Spider Ornament

Member Benefits 045-1: Course Feedback

Polymer Clay Membership SiteI am continuously impressed every Friday when a new tutorial comes out! As a complete newbie to polymer clay, I started out by purchasing Cindy’s beginner course. The amount of information jam packed into that course is priceless! I looked around my area for polymer clay courses, and was unable to find one for under $70 for a 3 hour class. By purchasing Cindy’s course, I instantly had access to 2.5 hours of polymer clay instruction, and I could watch in the privacy of my own home! If you’re anything like me, you only retain about 75% of the information the first time around. With Cindy’s course I can re-watch as many times as necessary, and even bring my laptop into my craft area! I then purchased the membership, and continued to be impressed! I have since purchased almost all of the back issue packages! The creativity, quality and ease with which the lessons are presented make working with polymer clay so easy! I’m constantly amazed by what I am able to create! For only $9.95 every 3 months? Definitely well worth the money! Thanks Cindy! ~Melissa-G >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Learning

Cindy, I have watched all the videos in your Beginner’s Course at least twice (some more!). It is obvious you are a natural teacher who enjoys and has mastery of her subject matter. Your experience working in television has enhanced your sense of pacing and editing. I think all this helps render your material so approachable and personal, and keeps all your members eager for each new installment! ~Monique-U >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutor Videos

Cindy, you have a way of making a technique seem much easier no matter how many times I have done it before. This is why I don’t think I would ever be able to say no to a tute from you. I learned this from the get go when I felt I already knew enough that the beginners course would not benefit me. Yea Right!!. I still to this day go back and review that course and get something new from it every time. There is no such thing about knowing enough when it comes to anything. Certainly not PC. For now I will have to be happy googling the lanyard and finding out what I can about it there. It will not be the same though. THANK YOU Cindy and Doug for any and all you share with us. You need to raise your prices!!!! uuuuuuugggs. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutor Lessons

Member Benefits 044-4: Techniques Tools

Polymer Clay Membership SiteCindy – I just wanted to thank you for all the wonderful work you do. It seems like every day when I’m doing clay, something I learned from you jumps up into what I’m doing to make whatever it is easier and better, and naturally I have to think about you. Thanks again, you really make this fun. ~Bonnie-K >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Techniques

This is a great point. As much as I try to add meaning to my clay work, I sometimes forget that the best, most finely executed ideas didn’t just happen. They came from periods of time where simply playing, getting a feel for the clay, making mistakes, changing a technique and so forth were the bulk of time spent at the clay table. Thank you for reminding me! ~Shannon-L >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Making Polymer Clay Beads

You are simply stunning, Cindy. Ever since my parents gave me an opal as a present when I was 10 years old, I have loved these stones. I have always worn it around my neck, since then. I read every article about making fake ones, that I stumbled upon un till now and I never ever saw one that even came close to how the real stones look. But your faux opals really capture the deepness and the shimmering layers. I would love to see the tutorial and try it out :D ~Angelghost >> This comment was originally posted at this link: How To Make Beautiful Faux Opals
