Member Benefits 046-4: Sand Buff Shine

Polymer Clay Membership SiteI ordered these and they came in. They are the BEST thing since sliced bread. I have never had such a smooth finish from regular wet/dry sandpaper. I’m a believer. Thanks Cindy for showing them to us. ~Kim-C >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Sanding Polymer Clay with Micromesh Pads

WOW! So much valuable information here, even after over a year. I went to the precision-blue.com site for information and there was a link to our Cindy’s blog and MY QUESTION ANSWERED. I read this back in Sept’2009 as I faithfully follow her blog, but my memory fails me sometimes with so much info overflow. Age has nothing to do with it of course ;-) I’ve been using PYM ll for a couple of years?? and have never had a problem on polymer clay. BTW my question was going to be “has anyone re cured clay after spraying your project three times with PYM ll (my usual)? I have to make adjustments to a clay project done a month ago.” We are so lucky to have this site as a reference. Yay Cindy! ~Lawrence-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Preserve Your Memories II

I made these this weekend and used the same shape in the tutorial. After dipping in water, I briefly sanded each one with 1000 grit and strung on a chain with silver beads in between each bead. I’m a teacher and wore it to school today and had so many compliments on them! I spent most of the weekend on them but really enjoyed each step! Thanks, Cindy! ~Toni-H >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Frosted Rainbow Flower Beads

Member Benefits 046-3: Friends Stories

Polymer Clay Membership SiteSWEET HUSBAND: Hi Lisa – When I read your post I thought about your pirate canes (lol) and that made me remember that I’ve not taken a picture of  my pirate cane, like my tree cane today, it’s pretty wonky too. Nobody near me really understands polymer clay like the people here. My membership is a gift from my sweet husband, that keeps me excited and curious… and being able to share our pictures with each other seems to put a bow on it so to speak. ~Tantesherry >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Community

MORE THAN JUST CLAY: Peggy, I love your idea. I’m new here, and I see names over and over but it took me awhile to make my first post. I guess I felt like I was maybe intruding? You all seem to have such an awesome relationship! Phaedrakat really made me feel at home and invited me to “come in”, so to speak. That gave me the courage to start posting. You all give each other so much encouragement and support, not only in claying, but in life. You said it, Peggy. “We have it all here. All the talent, dedication and so much compassion not just for our art but for each other. It just doesn’t get any better than this.” I look forward to (trying) to keep up with the posts, to learn all I can about clay but to learn about you all, too. My hubby probably wonders what’s going on- all of a sudden I’m running off to the computer every chance I get, where before I wouldn’t touch it for days! He keeps calling for me, to ask where I am and what I’m doing! LOL!! Anyway, now that I’ve rambled on I’ll get to the point. By doing this hopefully we won’t just be names on the screen anymore. Of course with my memory (you know, fibro-fog), I better bookmark the page so I can keep seeing who’s who! :) And gentle hugs to you, Peggy! (I love the story of your “Uuuuuuggggggss”. I was wondering where that came from!)  —  I’m Tanya M Leach- 49- Adamstown, PA, USA. Married for 19 yrs, have a son, a daughter, 2 step-sons and a grandson, 2 dogs and a grand-dog. :) I’m a Christian and a loving wife and mother, daughter and the big sister of a mentally challenged woman. I’ve been making jewelry for awhile now, and just recently discovered PC. And this website. I’m hooked! ~Tanya-L >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Cane Tutorials

Polymer Clay Membership SiteDear Cindy, you make polymer clay that much more enjoyable and fun, helping me discover, even after 20 years of claying, new ways and techniques to get lost in this “Wonderful World of Polymer Clay!” Thank you and Doug for sharing your many talents! Keep it coming. ~Christl-P >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Art Videos

Wow!!! Guess I had better get a bigger board for my color chips. I LOVE this!!!!! Thank you! Thank you! As an aside, I attended a pc class recently and patiently watched, and watched and watched as the instructor did a multi-color Skinner Blend for one of the projects. I smugly thought to myself, “I could sure show you a quicker way to do that”. I didn’t, of course, but it got me to thinking about what a revolutionary variation the Lietz Blend techniques really are. Out of curiosity, Cindy, does Judith Skinner know about the Lietz Blend? She would have to be impressed with the awesomely creative knowledge you have added to the pc world. Love it! ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Lietz Teardrop Blend Color Shifts

Boy, sure get a bang for your dollar on this tut. Sooo ADAPTABLE, and having tried tons of rose canes over the years, I am speechlessly pleased about the amount of depth and dimensions your take on it provides. Excellent work. ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Backgroundless Shaded Rose Cane

Member Benefits 045-4: Health Wellness

Polymer Clay Membership SiteI am an Occupational Therapist and I have had several opportunities to recommend using polymer clay as a therapy medium! Cindy, your site is not only a learning environment, but a therapeutic one too! I use it for personal therapy to express my artistic side, but I have enjoyed reading about how women (and men) have used clay as a way toward greater strength, health, expression and meaning in their life. Thanks for all you have done. ~Sue-W >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Hi Cindy, My addiction to clay started about a year ago after I was diagnosed with MS and went from a career girl to staying at home going nuts trying to find something to do. It is funny, but my goal was to network more online and actually talk to the people who share my new passion. Discovering my creative side has had a huge impact on how I deal with my health issues. Formerly, I was a nurse, so I know all the positive medical aspects of having a “hobby”. But, without sounding corny here, it is more than a hobby to me now. When I am creating my mind turns to the beauty in life; and as I create for others, I think about the joy of knowing them. With that there is absolutely no room for thoughts about pain, illness, fears of the future. I tell you, I suggest to everyone to find an art medium now – of course I talk about polymer clay! I spent much time researching, reading, investing in books, etc. and your lessons by far have been the best tutorials – everything is broken down and made simplistic. And you even incorporate wire work – it is a great, inspiring site! If only I had signed up with you FIRST, the 20lb bag of scrap clay I have would be much, much smaller! Sorry, this is a long response but I must tell you quickly – I love flower canes! Followed instructions to “T” from books published by other well known polymer clay artists – and they would always look horrible! So, I recently purchased a back issue of yours, the flower petal cane, turned out perfect – especially your tip on the packing! This sounds silly, but it is a little exciting – you are famous in my house, I call you my Art Professor! Keep it up! Thanks. ~Michele-E >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Videos

I, too, am disabled; I enjoy creating, as it takes my mind off life’s difficulties. I have found a great deal of inspiration here at this blog. Cindy Lietz, and her wonderful videos, got me back into polymer clay after a long absence while I had back surgeries. Her videos are so helpful, and this blog community she’s created is a caring and sharing environment. I “hang out” here a lot. ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Sculpey III Polymer Clay
