Member Benefits 047-2: Video Learning
Cindy, I absolutely love your tutorials… I took a hands on class about a year ago, and I have honestly learned more from your tutorials than I did in that class. The first video I watched was the Dandelion Ghost Cane Tutorial. I made different versions of the cane, and sold the pieces right away. You are so easy to learn from. Some things I would have never tried on my own, but since watching you I have ventured out of my comfort zone and have made amazing pieces. I have 15 back issues I am ordering, I cant wait to try them all. I have a picture on my inspirational wall of a zebra printed clay bead, I have had so many requests for animal printed beads, I can’t wait to watch that tutorial. Thanks again for your tutorials, they have taught me more than I could learn in a hands on class. Kudos to you for a job well done!!!!!! ~Kelli-N >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Library
Cindy, I just love your tutorials. The length of the videos are the perfect amount of time, and the sound is great too – like the sound on a cooking show – delicious!!!! They are the perfect respite when I need a small break before getting back to work. At this time in my life I don’t have a lot of time to sit down and work with my clay. But stopping for a moment or two and watching a video keeps me excited and inspired and even though I’m working on something else, it energizes me. I think to myself …hurry up and get this work done so I can have some time later this week to practice that technique with my clay. ~Connie-M >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Art Therapy
Hi everyone. When I first subscribed, back at the end of issue 36, I was disappointed in the initial offerings (perhaps you’ll remember our emails, Cindy?). I wanted to give PC Tutor a fair shot, though, so decided to give it one quarter to see what happened. Well, I am happy to say I couldn’t have been more wrong. I’m having a great time with PC Tutor. Cindy, I have become a bona fide admirer of yours. I love the videos. They are filled with tips and tricks and I love the happy manner in which they are delivered. I’m also very happy with the color recipes. Frankly, the only thing missing is… I want more! I see myself being a follower of PC Tutor for a long time to come, hooray. ~Angela-M >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Color Recipes
You never fail to amaze me. I watch your videos with my chin dropped to the floor most of the time. Never a dull moment and most of all you push us to be creative and daring with our own minds. You start the race for us but we have to finish it. Now that is what makes you the #1 Tutor with the #1 Tutorials, then put Doug in the mix with his amazing filming and BAM! THE AWARD GOES TO THE LIETZ TEAM. Cindy and Doug how ever many tutes you have done that is how many times I THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!! You think they can’t get any better than this and they get better. Hats off to the both of you – many Uuuuuggggs!! ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymerized Cloth Mixed Media
Cindy that was gorgeous!! Simple elegance I love it. I don’t know if I’ve ever thanked you Doug for your video work. I love all the clear close-ups, the slow-mos, speed-ups, pop-ups, everything. I can really see what Cindy’s doing. Excellent teaching videos guys. ~Michelle-A >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Fancy Rose Earwires Technique
Grew up immersed in books… picture books, reference books, how to and craft books, history …you name it. Followed the clay wagon now for 20 years, and in the beginning there were a couple of pamphlets and a great book by Nan Roche. Then Carol DuVal. Then more polymer clay books than I could ever shake a stick at. Same with VHS and CD instructions, and now the web is loaded with tuts and tutors. Would I willingly give back a single one? No way. More for the historical trigger of the memories and skills learned and applied while I read or watched. However, just based on what I have seen hear with my own eyes, this is the best site for the money to improve your polymer skills. Cindy’s videos are edited for all essential information, as is her blog, her tweets, and her emails, lol. She’s a busy lady, and doesn’t inundate you with information, just culls the best. If you master the skills she’s taught so far (and you have to work at it to get the planning, attention to detail and finishing down) your work is marketable. After only two and a half years of weekly blogs and videos, that’s an exceptional deal. Plus you get a great network of folks here who cheer you on and inspire you. ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Art Sheets
Thank you for the videos; I like their length and their content. Makes me want to go buy some better clays now! ~Nancy-M >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Beginners
I am just 2 weeks into this and already am looking forward to trying some of the techniques taught by Cindy. I have dabled some in polymer clay, but was intimated by the intricate designs thinking there’s just no way I could do that… but after watching just a few videos, I can’t believe how easy it is! I’m especially ordering back issues! I can’t wait to see what I’ve been missing all this time! Well I’m in now. Phew, finally my polymer clay ambitions will be filled. ~Laurie-W >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Tutorial Library
Cindy does a fantastic job teaching – her videos are the best I’ve seen! Her demonstrations are so clear and easy to follow. … and the community on this blog is helpful and sharing ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Tutorials
I’ve got to add my 2 cents worth now. I started about the same time as Angela and Laura and I am HOOKED. I just crawled out of my workroom after 5 hours making canes, beads, etc. The time just flies by, and although I know I should be spending more time preparing for Christmas, I always seem to tell myself ‘I’ll do it tomorrow’ and off I go to my PC. I, too, love the videos and I’ve been telling people about them (although I don’t know if I should – they’ll find out how easy it is to learn and progress and won’t think I’m so ‘artistic’ anymore!). Thanks so much. ~Isabel-H >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Blend and Switch Technique
Gotta comment on my week-end — I accompanied my husband to Washington DC where he has a meeting. I forgot the pc I planned to bring to color mix and so have spent that time re-watching many of the tuts that I love, but haven’t implemented as successfully as I wanted to. You’d be amazed at what I have discovered by just sitting here watching — all the little nuances of how you get to the perfect outcome. It’s been a delightful time with lots of “oh, I see how she did that, now”. Can’t wait to get home and back into my craft room. Please know how much I appreciate what you and Doug do for us – I could never say it enough. Hugs. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymerize Your Postage Stamps
Super video Cindy thanks for sharing. It was so relaxing. I just got through watching the tutorial. Awesome as always ;) ~Brenda-M >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Aurora Technique
I logged onto the net and eagerly checked out your blog to see what new technique we were going to learn tomorrow and then I saw ‘5th Friday’. You can see how addicted I am to your weekly videos Cindy!! Enjoy your week; I too take a 5th week off with my piano students or only do make up lessons if needed. I hope to be able to catch up on some of the things I want to try this weekend. ~Cherie-H >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Teardrop Blend Shift Video
Hi Cindy – Sorry I haven’t been in touch for the last couple of weeks. When a new hard-disk was fitted to my computer I thought that was the end of my problems. Big mistake! Nothing would work, it wouldn’t boot up without using the original Windows disk, then when it did boot up it wouldn’t go on-line! Finally my PC guru decided that changing the hard-disk alone wasn’t enough, the new one is nearly 3x the size and it just didn’t have enough power to start everything up at once. So he disconnected a few things which can easily be re-connected when needed, and suddenly-hey presto! But this problem did have a good side; when I got my power back I decided to go through all your videos again, and what a delight that was! I’d forgotten some of them and got a lovely surprise when I realised there were all these brilliant works of art for me to look at whenever I wanted! Thank you again for all that you and Doug do. I am so very glad I’m a member of your BeadVideo group, long may it last! ~Marion-R >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Lessons
One of the great things about Cindy’s video tutorials is that they are always there to look back on for help. ~Elizabeth-K >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Tutorials
Today is Thanksgiving in the US. A time for reflection and to give Thanks. I am thankful for finding Cindy’s site a few years ago when she just began doing Tutorials. This weeks tutorial will be number 231. Yes, Cindy and Doug have produced a high quality educational video Two Hundred and Thirty One weeks!!!. AMAZING!! Oh, and along with the 231 tutes, there is also 693 custom clay recipes. Is this woman amazing or what???? Also thankful for the PC community I have found. ~Anna-S >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Paper Punch Technique
I haven’t purchased the sets, but I love these flowers! I will have to invest soon. Life has me so busy I haven’t had time to play with my clay, but I always look forward to and find time to watch your videos, Cindy. ~Laura-Z >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Dogwood Flower Pendant Project
Hi Cindy, It’s 4:10 AM and I could not sleep (I’m on the couch when I heard the bling that I got an email… just what I needed a fantastic tut form my guru. Absolutely love this new tut. I make a lot of heart beads as bookmarks and I love your easy way of making mirror image. Never heard of them called Natasha beads. Can’t wait for my hubby to pick up my supplies. This is one that I can do without all my fancy stuff… don’t need my pasta machine. Thanks for making things so easy to follow. Too many clay tuts have way to many steps that I get frustrated and just give up… especially if they are tooooo wordy with few pixs. Can’t thank Doug enough for his great videos of you. You guys are a great team. ~Natalie-H >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Mirror Image Heart Beads
WOW!!! What a month it has been with four great tutorials along with what will probably be my favorite colour palette. The Lietz team has done it again. What a bargain. For less than $4.00 we got a practical and fun project along with a number of techniques in 50 minutes of video and a great colour palette. I’m left speechless. Where is an Academy Award for Polymer accomplishment and Doug’s cinematography? ~Lawrence-S >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Videos
Cindy, You are so darn good I just can’t stand it!!! With every new video I watch I learn something yummy. And you have a way of simplifying unnecessarily complicated methods. And of course, I have to mention your color recipes: how terrific! I love your approach and your clear, concise, yet best friend, friendly delivery. You rock! Thank You, Cindy! ~Kate-F >> This comment was originally posted at the following link: Polymer Clay Color Recipes
