Member Benefits 015-2: Jewelry and Projects

Polymer Clay Membership SiteYes! This is absolute genius! I’ve been looking at bezels now for some time and hating the cost of them. This solves that problem quite nicely! Thanks Cindy. You are always an inspiration! ~Aims >> This comment was originally posted here: How to Make Polymer Clay Pendants

Cindy, your rose is stunning!  If I ever get that good, you can bet I’ll be selling PC roses on Etsy — and I will give you credit for inspiration and tutoring!  I’m sure your mom loved it. It’s always good to have something to aspire to! I’ve sure learned a ton of great stuff from your site. Now that I’m signed up, I’m sure I’ll learn even more. ~Sue >> This comment was originally posted here: Rose Pendant Necklace

Hi Cindy: As you know I recently bought your Beginner’s course and I find it is just great.  All those hints and tips make a great difference for someone like me just learning how to work with polymer clay (don’t find these in books).  Some of us are more visual and need to really see how to do it rather than read on how it needs to be done.  I find it just amazing that I can get a video course and see it as many times as I want and stop it, go back, etc.  I started making jewelry as a hobby about 5 years ago and think that being able to create our own beads, pendants, etc. in the colors of our choice is amazing.  The other thing I like about it is that creating something really opens up your mind and imagination as to what we are capable of. Keep up your great work and please let me know when your next course will be available as I will certainly buy it. Thank you so much. ~Gail >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Wow Cindy – this is a fabulous idea and just the sort of thing I need to help me use the beads I’ve made :-))) I find the lentils particularly hard – thank you very much! ~Caroline >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Focal Beads

The bead is very pretty. I am just getting into PC and I am finding this site a great help. ~Marianne >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Jewelry to Make

My primary interest in using polymer clay is to create beads for jewelry, but this article has sparked an interest in flat pendants, as well. I never would have thought of putting cardstock in the oven! Home Depot here I come, for drywall sandpaper and ceramic tiles – I can’t wait to experiment with this new idea!  Thanks!  Thanks also to the readers who posted some additional tips here! ~Sue >> This comment was originally posted here: Baking Flat Polymer Clay Sheets

Get your Geek on! That cracked me up! ~Kim >> This comment was originally posted here: Cool Geek Jewelry Beads

Hi Cindy, The above bead is so lovely. It is so hard to believe that with some practice and patience, we (humans) can make such beautiful pieces with our own two hands and the proper tools.  We can mimic nature, and we can bring forth what was once only in our imaginations using these cane methods that you are teaching us. I am learning that the sky really is the limit as far as what we can do with Polymer Clay.  Thank you for sharing all that you do. You are appreciated :) ~Cindy >> This comment was originally posted here: Flower Beads for Jewelry Making

These gingham beads are absolutely beautiful! ~Marsha >> This comment was originally posted here: Jewellery Making Beads

In one of your blogs, you talk about how one persons ugly/useless jewelry is another ones treasure. Well, I have been wearing a lot of my jewelry that I make to work. I have worn many a pendant tediously and carefully wire wrapped and baubles made with polymer clay that have been hand formed, sanded, buffed and coated with hours of work on every detail (as you well know). Most times I hear not a word about these treasures from my co-workers. So the other day I throw on a little trinket I absolutely threw together. It was some store bought brown/amber plastic rings with some facet cutting on them. Threw a cheap gold colored chain through the middle of them and hung them from my neck. 2 minutes tops on this one. And sure enough, I get a comment about how pretty/cool my necklace is. Go figure!!! LOL ~Laurel >> This comment was originally posted here: Build Your Confidence as a Polymer Clay Artist

I think those are great earrings. I think Luna would approve. ~Nora >> This comment was originally posted here: Luna Lovegood Radish Earrings

I love Steampunk / Neo Victorian. My apartment is done in it! All I have to say is.. Keep it coming! ~Danelle >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Steampunk Fashion Jewelry

What a truly beautiful technique this has to be. My brother does this kind of firing and scares me to think hes working with fire as it come out of the kiln with his thrown clay. But to be able to get the raku on beads well all I can say is WOOOOOOOOOOW. ~Laurie >> This comment was originally posted here: Deep Crackle Bead Making Techniques

Your pendant with the silver spoon handle is so pretty. I’d definitely be interested in learning how to do it. :)~Anna >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Pendant Spoon Jewelry

You know what? Although I’ve said before I can’t really justify the cost of subscription because my jewellery business is so new and I haven’t anywhere near broke even yet, I’m actually really tempted to subscribe now. Maybe it can be a birthday present to myself… since my birthday’s in November I can get away with that I think! ~Silverleaf >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

I think this is an ingenious idea! Pretty spoons can be found at just about any thrift store, too.  The possibilities are endless. Your brain never shuts off, does it? :) ~Bonnie >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Flower Pendant

I just came across this article and you have me very excited to try this same technique. I would love to see pics of other projects you have done.  Thanks again for all the help and inspiration. ~Elle >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry

Very beautiful Cindy! I would love something like this. Especially with the rose being my favorite flower. And I like that you used copper. It is one of my favorite metals to work with. I like silver too. But copper seems to suit my earthy side better. To answer your question? No I have never purposely made convertible jewelry before. But I have been known to combine several bracelets with a couple brooches at a time to make a necklace or necklaces. I like the idea of something having more than one set use. I love to have options and hardly ever wear the same look twice. So maybe I should try making a few of these LOL. Now, when do we get the video showing how to make that lovely rose? Hee hee hee!  XOXO ~Jaime >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Beaded Jewelry

Your spider pendant made out of Polymer Clay is unique and awesome looking. I love it!  I will send my friends and family to your site. ~Cara >> This comment was originally posted here: Halloween Jewelry Idea

I just love Cindy! Your mom will definitely LOVE IT! I also love your pink one. I sometimes have a hard time thinking outside the box.  The idea of an adjustable necklace is super. And I agree with you on the two sides of the necklace complimenting one another even though each side is different and unique. I have been meaning to try that with my jewelry and I have attempted once or twice, but I end up going back to the usual…I guess I have to be more adventurous. What a gorgeous necklace…thanks for sharing. ~Lupe >> This comment was originally posted here: Handmade Beaded Jewelry

[Excerpts from a much longer comment] …you are a very nice lady, and karma speaks volumes …  I just loved looking at the gold/silver/copper leaf information, and plan on doing something with it … Just finished weaving a gorgeous Lauriat and Earrings. Was thinking to myself, wouldn’t this look great with one of my own created clay beads attached to it (once I learn)! (I’m dreaming, but it will come to fruition!! Actually, the pendant on it can be utilized two-fold — as a brooch as well. I AM SO BLESSED, AND YOU ARE TOO!! Sincerely. ~Diana >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Bead Making

Hi Cindy, just wanted to say that I really like the look of the copper wrap on the pendant. It really did “funk” it up and added that needed pizazz.Thanks. ~Adrienne >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry
