Member Benefits 002-2: Cane Making
Cindy you make it seem that creating canes can be so effortless. I love what you do, and how you put into words the instruction for others to follow. I love the colors of flowers in nature to and I think that those colors in that one flower in this post are amazing. Colors are always inspiring, but your videos and instruction really make me want to think outside the box. Thanks! ~Andrea @ Polymer Clay Cane Designs
Cindy, Found you while surfing a few days ago. The video you sent me on the Skinner Blend was probably the best I have seen. What I will be interested in when you get them done is making canes, the more advanced ones. I also wanted to thank you on the info on storing clay. I just stuck them in baggie not knowing there would be problems. I have had a few left when I put the clay up for a while to take care of more pressing matters and boy was it hard to soften up again. I should have no upcoming problems and should be able to work on the clay one night a week. One night goes to painting or drawing, one night go to counted cross stitch, one night go to jewelry making and one night is Bible Study. ~Pat @ Polymer Clay Skinner Blend
Thanks for the videos! I’ve been making polymer clay canes for 10 months now, making candle holders for beeswax candles I’ve been making. I finally figured out how to make the candle holders. When I used slices put together they broke – but I didn’t like the slices on top of a solid piece. This weekend I tried mixing white with a leftover flower cane, so the same colors were in there for a solid base, and just put the beautiful flower cane around the edge. It’s sturdy and beautiful! (I drape it over an overturned bowl to bake it.) I would never have started making candles, and then learning how to make polymer clay canes for candle holders, without having gone through stage III (out of IV) thyroid cancer. You never know what is in store for you or who you will meet. Thanks so much for making the videos! ~Betsy @ How To Make Polymer Clay Canes
